Chapter 17

This is where Ron's secrets will be uncovered

Chapter 17, titled A secret relationship, is the seventeenth chapter in Audition's KP The Series. By mere coincidence, Kim discovered that Ron has been keeping in touch with a certain girl in Liberty City, and she is going to find out who, and why he did it.

Storyline

A few days after the "party" - Monique thanks Kim for the new clothes and asks if she knows about the setup, which Kim confirms, since she wanted to cover the bill for Ron to ease up his financial problem. Everything went according to plan, just Kim wonders what did Ron mean about the ransom - she just acted the part, so there shouldn't be any demand, unless it came from the tweebs. Concluding that they were behind the scheme, Kim returns home and ask Tim - he claims that it has to be done to make the kidnap natural and it's to cover their setup cost. In any case, Jim & Tim used the money to finish their new invention and now they have more than enough cash to pay Ron back many times over. It appears to be some useful tools against criminal that VCPD paid them C$50.000 - Dan confirms that Mr. Damon gave the order, so it can't be wrong. Kim is convinced, and now it's just a matter of how they will return the cash to Ron. In the mean time, Tim has a little secret that his sister may wanna know - it seems Ron has been exchanging SMS with a girl called Jenny since he started making comic. From their conversation, Jim & Tim say they are more like brother 'n sister than an affiar, and thus Kim is recommended to take it easy. She understands what the tweebs mean, but it's better to check it out a little further herself. After dinner, Mrs. Anne suggests Kim to go on a vacation with Ron, and she sees this chance to head to LC and find out more about Jeny.

Later on, Ron settles the moving process with Mr. Damon and tells Windy that they will all be taking a month off - she is to inform Leo and Kenvin while Ron informs Kilar. He then meets up Kil outside and discuss about their holiday plan - Ron has yet to decide where to go, but Kil seems to plan a vacation with his ACE fam members. Contrary to what Ron thought, Liz is not coming because she is heading home to take care of her mom - they all understand why, so Kil won't bother questioning her. After stopping at the pool, Ron asks if Kim has any idea on their vacation, and Kim responds with Liberty City - she explains that Jenny has sent them a party invitation. New school season will start soon so she wants to play a little bit more Ron guesses - Kim took the chance to ask Ron some question about her, and even though Ron dodged them all, he still gives out some information that confirms the tweeb's idea. Later on that night, Ron is visted by Miran - she is aware that K&R are going to Liberty City and warns them that Henry and his accomapnies just fled there after the botched kidnapping. They sure never learn Ron supposes, and it's obvious that Hate and Yazu ain't too happy about it either - Hate swears that she will get it back at Ron one day or another in a fitting rage.

Eventually the vacation day has come - Ron still can't understand why Kim chose Liberty City, while she simply makes up some excuses which he doesn't buy. After landing at Francis International Airport, Kim tells Ron that he should attend Jenny's party alone while she is off to visit someone - that someone turns out to be Jerry, and Jerry is more than happy to hear from Kim again (literally). His new business, TW@, goes on just fine, not too many customers but not too few either. Kim asks if Jerry wanna walk around a bit, and Jerry denies, since one of his customer, Mr. Sora, is still here. He seems to be troubled by something, so Kim decides to give him a hand. Strangely, Sora has little opinion on Kimmie, claiming that even she can't deal with this issue. After pesting him for a little longer, Kim finally gets Sora to spill the bean - his wife's 1st death anniversary is coming, but he still couldn't find the culprit who killed her. While the case is reported as traffic accident, Sora believes it to be a hit 'n run, thus the driver who crushed Sora must be charged. But all of his works have been for nothing, as no useful lead ever turned up, aside from a possible witness fleeing the scene that Dan spotted. Kim understands Sora's feeling, and she immediately heads back to TW@ to check on the case - nothing useful on the Internet, but Jerry has a few clues on the witness that he could think of. Unfortunately he was not at Vice City at that time so he has no idea who could be the suspect - Kim then leaves on Kent's taxi and discuss about that lead with him. Kent has the same idea as Jerry, however he name-drops a girl named Civile, who fits all the descriptions.

At Jenny's place, Kim finds out that the party is over and Ron is out for a walk - she decides to talk to Jenny for a bit about his relationship with Jenny, and it turns out Jim & Tim are right: Jenny and Ron are more or less in a brother 'n sister relationship. Still, Kim wants to verify it herself so once Ron is back, she attempts to question him about Jenny. Even though Ron is sleepy, he still keeps his head straight and avoid spilling too much info, but once Kim uses the Perfume of Truth, he ends up giving her all the intels, which simply confirms what Jenny said was true.

The next day, Kim pays Bonnie a visit and asks if she knows someone named Civile. Bonnie, after having fun teasing Kim about Ron's relationship with Jenny, reveals that she does know a couple of girls with that name, but they will need more info to pinpoint who Kim is looking for. To this end, Bonnie suggests digging the LCPD's database, which Schiedam arranged for her - they are still working together, much to Kim's surprise. Soon, Schiedam gives Kim the info she needs - Civile Vio, a staff at Victim's in Torrington. She lived in Vice City 3 years ago but moved back to LC after that accident and never appeared on the stage anymore. Sensing something wrong here, Kim decides to drop by and ask Vio directly - rather than guilty, Vio displays somewhat of frustration and depressed feel instead, even asking why God didn't forgive her. Kim tries to encourage Vio to tell her the story, and eventually it's revealed that Vio went into hiding against her own will to protect her brother, Kazuki. Anzura pulled some strings to keep Kazuki hospitalized so she could threaten Vio into keeping her mouth shut - this was the main reason she had to return to Liberty City to keep an eye on Kazu, making sure he is safe. In the end, Vio makes it clear that she doesn't care what is Kim up to - get Kazuki out, and Vio will testify.

Soon, Kim and Katz has a discussion about her plan to break Kazuki out. The way Katz see it, they won't be able to get him out legitimately, so Kim has to be sneaky - frankly said, she is to break into Shoreside Vale Hospital, find Kazuki's record and mark it "cured" so he can be discharged. Kim agrees, but first she has to pick Ron up from Jenny's mansion - the party is over, and they should be going home for a rest. Kim however, insists that Ron sleep first since she still has some works to take care of. Ron doesn't buy it though, and after staying up until 23:00, he decides to take a walk to stay awake. Also, Ron has been wondering what is Kim up to - suddenly, Miran rushes up and alert Ron that Henry just discovered about Kim's plan to break into Shoreside Vale Hospital, so he tipped off the guards to catch her. There is no time for further explanation so Miran asks Ron to get to her car fast - he will know what to do there.

In the mean time, Kim makes her way through Shoreside Vale Hospital and locates the Document Room. She attempts to search for Kazu's record, but a guard spots her and she is forced to run away. Exactly how he detects Kim is unknown, but eventually she realizes that she can't lose that guy since she doesn't know the layout of this place too well. As Kim stops near the bathroom to catch her breath, someone gags and drags her inside just as the guard turns the corner - it seems that Ron just managed to hide Kim in time. Following Miran's advice, he comes to Kim's aid, but for now they still need to get past that guard to reach Kazu's files. Ron suggests that he will be distraction so Kim can do her job - he then brings a guitar and plays a few off-tunes to catch the guard's attention. Soon, that guy leaves to confront Ron, giving Kim the chance to head inside and fix Kazu's records, both his files and inside SVH's online database. Kim then heads to Kazu's room and tells him that he can leave now - his files have been updated and he is now cured, so the nurses let him leave. Kazu wonders if his sister sent Kim, while Kim keeps quiet about it and drives the Ambulance to Francis International Airport, where Kazu should board a plane and escape Liberty City.

Eventually Anzura catches wind of Kazuki's escape and berates Henry for not keeping a close watch - Henry is not too happy for being treated like an idiot, but he has no choice other than making up for his mistake. Andreas concludes that the only way out is to assassinate Vio before she reaches the court - they head out to find some weapons, and Miran happen to have an attack Mesa for 'em to use. Once Andreas and Henry are off however, Miran goes to alert Kim of their plan - the FBI lent them an armored truck to transfer Vio to the court, but it might not be able to last long enough, so Kim will have to do some extra protection. That said, Miran gives Kim the Chicago Piano Gun once more - this should help scaring the enemies into missing their shot.

Soon, Kim returns to LCPD HQ and assures Vio that everything will be alright. As the FBI Truck leaves, Andreas and Henry give chase - Kim asks Kent to keep the truck steady while she returns fire, preventing Andreas from hitting them. The chase lasts for a while until Henry suddenly stops the car - they are out of fuel, and Andreas blames Henry for it, though Henry hit it back by claiming Andreas shouldn't be taking that long. With the enemies given up, Vio is successfully escorted to the court - here, the statement she gave out is a bit vague but enough to partially charge Anzura. Not a perfect ending, but Kim is satisfied with Vio's work - she gives Vio one more ride to Francis International Airport where a plane will take Vio back to Vice City so she can reuinte with her brother. Kim then returns to Jenny's mansion to greet her one more time before leaving - she does, however, have a little request, that Jenny keep on her SMS talk with Ron, since it eases up his mind a lot and having someone to chat with frequently will benefit Ron in the long run. Jenny is surprised at first, but she accepts Kim's request nonethelss.

And so Kim & Ron leave the place and head to FIA - Ron is a bit upset that the trip is cut short but Kim insists it's fun, and she supposes Ron had a good time as well. Kim keeps on teasing her BF until they get home - she has a little chit chat with Mrs. Anne before going inside and take a shower. Jim & Tim are still awake, and they figure their advice turned out to be quite effective. Kim doesn't admit it fully, but she knows well that Ron's future will be a lot better with his secret relationship, something that Kim can't bring to him as good as Jenny. With that said, Kim quietly goes to bed - Ron however is still awake, sending Jenny some more SMS before bedtime, with a smile on his face.

Aftermath

Kazuki Vio is finally released from hospital, and he is ready to go back to business, now with his sister staying beside him in Vice City. The threat placed on Vio family is finally gone so they can carry on without any fear of attacks from the bad guys.
